History

The American Roy C. Farrel and the Australia N Sydney H. of Kantzow found the Cathay Pacific Airways with HongKong the September 24th 1946. Initially based with Shanghai, the 2 business men move finally with HongKong and found Cathay Pacific Airways. At the time, the fleet was limited to only one Douglas DC3, just demobilized. The fleet extends now to more than 100 apparatuses.

June 9th, 2006, Cathay Pacific, Swire Pacific, Air China, CNAC and CITIC Pacific concluded an agreement modifying the structure of the shareholding of Cathay Pacific, Dragonair and Air China. According to this prone agreement, Dragonair became a subsidiary company with 100% of Cathay Pacific.
