Catch in T

The taken in T is the type of telephone connector historical in France. It is called sometimes circuit-closer postal and telecommunications authorities name of old the administration of the stations and telecommunications (postal and telecommunications authorities). It was used on the final installations of France Telecom until the end 2003.

The catch in T allows in particular the connection of the telephones, Modem S, filters ADSL, multi-stage Fax, and other catches.

In 2007, this connector industry is used at the majority of the private individuals and in certain companies.

However, connections between the boxes ADSL and the telephones is generally done by catches RJ-11 (standard North-American).

The catch in T is described in the Technical specifications of interface of France Telecom.

Since the end of 2003, France Telecom employs for the new installations of the catches in conformity with the standard CEI 60603-7, which are not other than RJ-45. The conventions established between France Telecom and the promoters or realizers of real units recommend the installation of CEI 60603-7.

The analogical lines of the public network of France Telecom, thus use from now on two standards:

  • taken in T with 3,6 or 8 studs (contacts);
  • taken CEI 60603-7.

However, in the same dwelling, all the catches must be of the same type.
