Catalytic Reforming

The catalytic reforming one is procécé used in Raffinage to convert the naphtenic molecules into aromatic molecules having a Number octane as a basis high being used in manufacture of the Carburant S Automobile.

In this process, one uses a Catalyseur which makes it possible to initiate the chemical reactions. Starting from a heavy naphtha removed from Sulfur, one makes pass the product through a series of 3 engines which transform the naphtenic products into aromatic products by partially removing them from the Hydrogène. On the outlet side of the engines, after passage in the fractionator one a:

The reaction is done under pressure and with high Température of about 500-550 °C.

  • hydrogen will be used in the hydro-treating and the Hydrodésulfuration,

  • fuel gas is directed towards the combustible network of Gaz,
  • propane and butane is directed towards the storage of these products,
  • finally the reformat will be mixed with light naphtha and butane in well defined proportions to give ordinary fuel and super fuel, or by a mode of fractionation of the reformat one aromatic obtien LMBO hydrocarbons BTX very research in petrochemical industry.

In a complex refinery, one adds also isomérats and ethanol to make fuel without Plomb.
