The Catalan language of the signs , Llengua de Signes Catalana , Lengua of señas O signos catalana or LSC is a Langue of the signs used by 32.000 people (7 000 deaf persons) in Catalogne. Since 1994, it has a condition official by the Generalitat de Catalunya which approved a law to promote it and propagate in the communication and the public administrations.

The Catalogne was the autonomous first Communauté of Spain to ratify a law to promote a language of signs. FESOCA (Federation of Catalan deaf people) is a founded ONG in 1979 to represent and defend the laws of associations and people deaf to obtain a full social participation and integration, it organizes several meetings, of the courses and the activities.

There are various groups of research of the LSC like ILLESCAT (Center of Studies of the LSC), which investigue the language and creates neologisms. The Platform for the Rights Cultural Linguists and of the Users of the LSC or LSC, Macaw! could obtain a law to foment the language with the Estatut .
