Cat of sands

The cat of sands , Felis margarita , also called cat of the desert or cat of Marguerite, lives in the desert areas of Algérie, of Egypt, Iran, Libya, the Morocco, the Niger, Oman, the Pakistan, the Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, Tunisia, Turkménistan, Ouzbékistan and the Yemen.

Description

Discovered in 1856, the cat of sands has a 49 cm length, a height with the garrot 25 cm, a tail measuring between 27 to 35 cm length and weighs from 2 to 3 kg. This cat has a rectangular head, its fur is often gray-brown.

Drive out and food mode

It drives out Rongeur S, Lézard S, Insecte night S. Chasseur, its large ears enable him to locate its food. It spends all the day hidden in its burrow.

Reproduction

The females put at the world between 2 to 4 kittens by ranges, at the end of 2 months of gestation. They reach their sexual maturities at the age of 1 years. This cat can live up to 14 years.
