Cat haret
A cat haret is a domestic Chat turned over at the wild state. It is the phenomenon of the marronnage. It can have known the life near the men or to be born in nature. There does not remain about it less one cat domesticates Felis silvestris catus .
The difference between the domestic cat itself and the cat haret is thus only ethologic. The cat haret should not in particular be confused with the Wildcat, which forms three Sous-espèce S distinct ( Felis silvestris silvestris , Felis silvestris lybica and Felis silvestris ornata ).
In France, the cat haret was withdrawn from the list of the species chassables (stopped of June 26th, 1987) and list of the species likely to be classified harmful (decree of September 30th, 1988). The mayor only becomes responsible for the divagation for the cats in accordance with articles 213 of the Rural Code and L 131.2.8 of the Code of the Communes. In addition, its limitation can continue to be carried out within the framework of the police force of the rage which depends on the Ministry for Agriculture.
