Castlebar
Castlebar ( Caisleán year Bharraigh in Irish) is the capital of the Comté of Mayo in Irish Republic. It has a very active market and is one of the cities which knows the greatest growth of the country.
Currently, Castlebar is a city having good infrastructures and companies offering a large range of products and services. The Library of the County is in Castlebar, and the city has many sections as regards teaching on all the levels. In addition, art, the sport and the leisures are well represented with multiple equipment, demonstrations, competitions or festivals, like the internationally known " Furnace Days Walks" (4 days of walk).
Access
The city is well served with good roads, as N5 towards the East and North and N60 towards the South.
Iarnrod Eireann proposes a service of trains, 3 times per day, with destination and coming from Dublin. The city is also connected by the regular lines of bus to all the other areas of the country.
There is a landing strip deprived to 1 km of the city (code AITA: CLB), and the International airport of Knock is only to 32 km.
Tourism
Castlebar has many attractions for the visitors. The city profits from a recognition to the international level with regard to fishing and the excursion. It is ideally located to make tourism through the Mayo to visit the Abbey of Ballintuber, the " Ceide Fields" (archeological site), Croagh Patrick, Foxford Woolen Millets (traditional textile factory), Moore Hall, Pontoon and the round Tower of Turlough.
