Castle of the Small-Pierre

The castle of the Small-Pierre (Lutzelstein) is located in the Commune Frenchwoman of the Small-Pierre, in the department of the the Low-Rhine. It is the seat of the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North.

History

Built at the end of the 12th century, in particular transformed at the 16th century by the Count Palatine '' Jerri-Hans de Veldenz '' and at the 18th century by Vauban, the Château knows various occupations.

In the multi-media exposure " The adventure of the the Vosges of North " arranged on 700 m ², a room is specifically devoted to the history of the castle of the Small-Pierre, with in particular a superb model of the Staedtel , the strengthened old city, according to plans of 1771, and an impressive sight of the Citerne of the Château.

The strengthened city, with the vault Saint-Louis, the chorus of the church of the 15th century and the turn-bastion protecting the Cistern S, is closely related to the Château.
