Castle of Wasigenstein
The Château of Wasigenstein is located on the commune of Niedersteinbach, in the Département of the Low-Rhine.
History
This place is initially known like a high place of the Germanic legends, in particular that of Waltharilied at the 10th century.
On this site at the 13th century two castles of unequal importance narrowly dependant one on the other rose.
Still visible characteristics

with the Large-Wasigenstein , the old cistern, the keep, of the cut rooms, etc
- with the Small-Wasigenstein , a keep-habitat having a thickened wall acted as shield, an enormous winch made it possible to raise considerable loads.
- staircases of accesses, dug to very the rock: monumental architectural work, very abrupt and vertiginous rise at the tops of both chatelêts!
- the legendary fault, separating both chatelêts between them: " the fault of Walther " …
- of splendid alveolar and cathédralesques erosions (southern faces of the spur).
- a beautiful point of view in the boxed small valley of Langenbach and towards Obersteinbach (tallies forest remarkable, face-to-face discussion with the solid mass of impressive Arnsberg).

Access
Between the village of Niedersteinbach and Wengelsbach, on D 190, with the locality Klingelfels , to follow a path of the Vosgean Club marked out of a red rectangle.
