Castle of Thibault Wood
The Château of Wood Thibault is located at Lassay-the-Castles in the department of the Mayenne. It is located in direction of the Housseau, with approximately a kilometer of the commune on the roads of Geneslay and Seven-Forging mills.
Built on an old Feudal castle (abandoned during the War One hundred Year old), it was according to the Abbé Angot “ rebuilds in all or partly (1467) with similar turns with drain-holes and arbalétrières with those of Lassay ”; it was then one of most considerable of the baronnie of Mayenne.
Transmitted by blood ties or marriage, he was inhabited until in 1830.
