Castle of Quintin

The castle of Quintin is in fact made up of two castles: two castles in the same park, in the middle of the small city of character of Quintin. A castle of the 17th century, unfinished, classified historic building, and a castle of the 18th century, registered voter with the historic buildings.

One of the nine baronnies of Brittany, the seigniory of Quintin was born at the 13th century from the division from the County from Penthièvre. Rohan, Laval, Coligny, Trémoïlle, Gouyon of Moussaye, Durfort de Lorges or Choiseul are among the most prestigious families having inherited this field through the centuries.

The opening to the public of the castle in 1986 makes it possible little by little to restore its gardens and its interiors of them. Today, it is possible to see the restoration of the gardens to the Frenchwoman, of the living rooms of the castle, the current showrooms and the old stables. The next restoration campaigns will relate to the castle and its bases.

Bases of the castle 17th century, apartments richly furnished with the castle, the old kitchens (whose exceptional granite kitchen garden by its dimension), the permanent collections of Porcelain, glassmaking, of Silverware, curios, range and christening robes, are visited all the year.
