This last would have been destroyed entirely in reprisals with the oppression of the local lord. At the end of XVe century, Jean de Dommarien, lord of Pailly, undertake to make a fortified town of it. From this time only the Donjon remains. To died from Jean de Dommarien, which does not leave any heir, the castle is allocated to the bishop of Langres. Gradually then abandoned by the family of Saulx-Tavannes, it was bought by a family inhabitant of Franche-Compt3e in 1764, it “was invaded and plundered by people of Heuilley Cotton in 1793”, into full Révolution. It then is confiscated and sold by the central administration of the Haute-Marne in 1799. The castle takes again life at the end of the Napoleonean period thanks to the family of Breuil of Saint-Germain who acquires it in 1821.
