Castle of Mouterhouse

The ruins of the castle are with the locality Kapellenhof , in the Commune Frenchwoman of Mouterhouse and the department of the the Moselle.

History

The strong Château is built in 1505 for Reinhard of Deux-Ponts - Bitche, at the edge of the Moderbach. It is destroyed in 1633 by the Swedish then in 1944. Before the Second world war, there still remains the vestiges of a polygonal turn and curtain, having been used as career of stone S after the war, during the rebuilding of the country.

The stone of foundation of the castle, dated 1505, is employed again in the Mur western of the vault Our-Lady-of-the-Mercy.
