Castle of Lutzelhardt

The castle of Lutzelhardt is located in the Commune Frenchwoman of Obersteinbach and the department of the the Low-Rhine. At the exit of the Village of Obersteinbach, on the Road of Bitche, to take the way before the forest House of Lutzelhardt then to follow the path of the Vosgean Club marked out Right-angled Yellow.

History

The Château is built in the middle of the 13th century to protect the seigniory from Bitche. It becomes even more important after the foundation towards 1135 of the Abbaye of Sturzelbronn, selected to become the place of burial of the dukes of Lorraine. It is about a Château |semi-troglodytique.

Building

The Keep of the 13th century and the vestiges of the Logis seigneurial are still visible.
