The manor of Laly is located at the Montet in the Allier

History

The panel present on the site brings following information to us:

Rather than a castle, as it is usually named, Laly constitutes a middle-class house surrounded by agricultural dependences. Its more former known owners, GAULMYN, belonged to the entourage of the Ducs of Bourbon, which rested, to sit their capacity, on lawyers whom they rewarded by gifts for grounds. Perhaps the current constructions, magnificiently located at semi-slope on the hillock of Montet reveal the site of an older occupation. It is about an apartment building with two commun runs perpandiculaires delimiting a vast court closed by a bored wall of a gate. The apartment building going up in its actual position at the 18th century typically bourbonnais, lengthens of is in west, on two levels, with a large roof with four punctuated sides of attic windows and chimneys, old a Chapelle preserves the memory of the Mariage of Mr. Th Gaulmyn with the lord of La Motte of Aspremont in 1744. The beauty of the situation and volumes of the buildings makes this unit one of most remarkable of the canton of Montet.

To the surplus of this information we can add that the Castle of Laly had a hunting lodge at the time where it appatenait with family Camus.Celui-Ci was located in the old Wood of Sceauve on the commune of Chavenon. This hunting lodge called Saint Hubert was separated by successional division from the Castle of Laly at the 19th century. By enlarging and addition of a Treyve park, it became him also at the 19th century a manor, which is occupied since 2006 by an orthodoxe monastery.
