Geography
The castle of Detmold is in the center of the town of Detmold in Rhineland-of-North-Westphalia.
Description
This Château belongs to the most beautiful masonries of the Renaissance of the Weser. The castle which was completed to build in 1673 originates in a castle of the Moyen-âge, begun in 1366, surrounded by water, and walls of this time rise still today. Its turns of angle to the four corners is very characteristic.
History
In 1511 the count Bernhard V made build ramparts to protect the castle. The count Bernhard VIII made increase the building in 1549 by the large gardener Jörg Unkair.In the castle which belongs today to the princely family Zur Lippe find a museum of the government, Land, and a library which shelters the files concerning the castle.
