History

With the XIIe century, the Monk S Cistercien S of important the Abbey of Cîteaux to some km of VOUGEOT, owners of CLOS VOUGEOT thanks to gifts of rich person Burgundian lords and purchases made by the abbey between 1109 and 1115, cultivated the Vigne and build the Cuverie with four Pressoir S with monumental Cabestan out of wood of Chêne as well as large the Cellier of a capacity of 2000 Pièce S of wines. In 1920, the castle and the field are repurchased by Etienne Camuzet, appointed Coast-with Or and important owner vine grower of Vosne-Romanée which preserves the field and sells the castle the November 29th 1944 at the civil society of the Amis of the Castle of Closed of VOUGEOT which grant to the leader members Confrérie of the Knights of Tastevin a 99 years lease.

The vineyard of the field is divided by more than 80 owners.

Each month, the Confrérie of the Knights of Tastevin establishes a novel member knight at the end of a great imposing ritual chapter of high gastronomy of 500 guests invited on invitation exclusively. The most important chapter being that of the famous sale of the Old people's homes of Beaune.
