Castle of Chaumont
The Château of Chaumont is located on the commune of Oyé in Saône-et-Loire, at the top of a hillock.
Description

the castle, of plan out of U, comprises a central body flanked, on the angles of its exterior facade, two square towers and, on those of its frontage on court, two large houses which two wings in return of square prolong. These wings themselves are supplemented each one by a house established on their exterior angle. The building of the 15th century, coming from Arconce Mill-the, was rebuilt in the alignment of the principal body.
- an alley lengthens between punctuated plat bands of cut yews, Centaure S overlapped by loves and vases of ornament. A grid dissimulates a hedge cut in triumphal arch. Turfed floors, in a park decorated with cut statues and shrubs, surround the ensemble.
The castle is a Private property and does not visit itself.
History
- 1638 : field of the Abbey of Cluny , the ground is sold with Hector Andrault de Langeron , marquis de Maulévrier (grandfather of the Marshal of France Jean-Baptiste Louis Andrault de Maulévrier) which had acquired two years before the seigniory of Oyé whose castle, to the center of the village, offered little possibility of extension
- 17th century: the family Andrault de Langeron makes build a vast residence
- 1818: by marriage, the property passes to the family of the Marais which always has it
- 19th century: wings arranged in the neo-gothic style; the room of the medieval castle of Arconce Mill-the went up stone by stone
