Castle of Buat
The castle of Buat is located on the commune of Maule, in the department of the Yvelines, in France.
History
Of style Louis XV, it was built in 1730 on the vestiges of an old door of the strengthened city of Maule, the door of Buat, which was the fourth which skirted the property of the fashionable country inn of the Dolphin. This door disappeared completely at the 19th century.
- 1366 : the stronghold of Buat is offered to the monastery by Jacques of Buat, canon of Saint-Paul to Saint-Denis and, in exchange, the prior had the obligation to say once a mass of Requiem in the church per week.
- 1491 : the property is yielded by the monks to Thomas Morise, expert.
- 1664 : the field is transmitted to Sieur Pernot by a Emphyteutic lease 60 years. This man was Grand footman of the king under Louis XIV. With her death, its widow inherited the stronghold.
- 1730 : the castle, called at the time red House , was built by the Pernot children. It was transmitted then successively from generation to generation by the women of the family.
- Of 1942 with 1944, the castle is occupied by the Wehrmacht and became, after the Second world war, a domestic school for the young girls.
- 1951 : creation, by Mr. Corcoral and the Mother Superior, of a private agricultural college, the Ministry for Agriculture giving its approval to creation.
- June 1st 2007: The newspaper of 20:00 on France 2 watch a report on the actions and the projects of the college, in particular on subjects like ecology, tourism and the assistance with the elderly.
Structure
Buat is built out of bricks and stones. It comprises a flanked central body of two slightly taken down houses.
Gardens
Forest garden which constitutes the field, only some shaded alleys make it possible to walk there. It remains there an old press and a dovecote.
