Castle of Bürresheim
Geography
The strong castle of Bürresheim , in Germany is close to Mayen in the Land of the Rhineland-Palatinat. It is located isolated in a landscape from brooks and wooded mountains.
Description
It is very rare contairement to find a so old Château which never was taken nor destroyed centuries since, with the majority of the other Rhenish castles.
It is composed of various buildings of which the Beffroi which is one of to be built first. The various buildings were added the ones to the others between the 12th century and the 17th century. The Half-timberings, different the Roof S covered with Slate S and the turns go back them to origin. Starting from 1700, one could see on paintings small the Jardin baroque which is in the south of the castle.
History
A family of noble which lived here during generations, until 1938, collected many pieces of furniture of the 15th century until the 19th century and of paintings showing the family and the princes, collection which one can see still today.
The Keep, which is the oldest part of the unit dates from the 12th century and the bases of the wing East date they from the 14th century and the later modifications to him one given his appearance of today.
One thinks the rudimentary life of the end of the 15th century by looking at the rooms of the castle which date from the end of the Moyen-âge. On each floor one found a big room with pillars in Chêne, Poutre S and enormous Cheminée S, but to have more pleasant and comfortable parts later one divided them in several the smaller.
