Castle of Arthaudière
The castle of Arthaudière , classified at the Historic buildings in 1991, is located on the heights of the commune of Saint-Bonnet-with-Chavagne (Isere).
It is thought that the oldest part of the Castle, the round Tower dates at its base from the 13th century. The Keep of barlong plan, as for him, date certainly of the 14th century. Probably, these constructions are the work of the Arthaud family.
During the time which marks the beginning of the Renaissance, after the Guerres of Italy, but before the wars of religion, sudden Arthaudière of deep transformations. A gallery with stage is built against the western enclosing wall and the round tower.
With the bottom of the round tower, a vault was founded at the beginning of the 16th century. André Ier of the Door speaks about it on his will in 1517. Above the vault, on the first floor, the study with his armor-plated door is. Large stables
The current stables underwent several periods of construction. Their establishment in " L" delimit a first accessible court since the large alley.
