Castinus
Flavius Castinus étaint an important character of the Roman Empire at the beginning of the Ve century. It had the title of Patrice at the end of the reign of Honorius, and probably already before. With died of this emperor in 423, whereas Théodose II hesitated over the choice of a new emperor for the Occident, Castinus chooses to place on the throne its own favorite, Jean, a senior official of the court ( primicerius notariorum ). It was Consul itself the following year, 424. However, the position of Jean was very delicate and the whole of the Empire remained devoted with the line théodosienne. Jean was captured during the year 425 and was carried out, and it is probable that Castinus knew the same fate.
