Casterman
Casterman is a Belgian editor of Cartoon and books for youth.
In the beginning, Casterman is a printing works and a company of edition which was founded in 1780 with Tournai by Donat Casterman.
It is in 1934 that Casterman takes over edition of the Petit Twentieth for the publication in albums of the adventures of Tintin with the fourth episode of the series: Cigars of the Pharaon . As from 1942, Casterman publishes versions altered and colors of the adventures of famous deferring.
Extremely success gained by the cartoons of Hergé, Casterman well quickly proposes new series of adventures: Petzi of Carla and Wilhem Hansen, Alix and Lefranc of Jacques Martin or Burning Knight of François Craenhals.
In the years 1970, Casterman decides to conquer a more adult assistantship by proposing the first albums of Corto Maltese in 1973 and creating the historical review of cartoon (TO BE FOLLOWED) in 1978.
Casterman Editions forms part since 2004 Groupe Flammarion. Casterman printing works been part - as with it of the Group since the end of 2002; it was renamed Casterman Printing.
