Castelo Branco

The castelo branco is a Portuguese cheese, manufactured in the area of the town of Castelo Branco located approximately at 270 km in the North-East of Lisbon.

It is a cheese ewe's milk with soft paste with washed crust known as “with will ovelheira”, of the type of the Serra, but which has particular characteristics: salted, acidulated and suave of taste. Its average weight is of 1 kg.
