Castel Gandolfo
Castel Gandolfo is a commune Italy nne of the Province of Rome in the Latium. Castel Gandolfo is located at 5 km in the south-east of Rome, in the zone of the Castelli romani, on the top of the crater which overhangs the Lake Albano.
It is mainly known to be the residence of summer of the Pape S, and this since Urbain VIII (1623 - 1644) which was made there build a palate by Carlo Maderno. Pie XII and Paul VI, inter alia, died there.
