Cassiopée (troop)

Cassiopée is the name of the theater company of the scientific center of Orsay (Université Paris-South).

History

The first artistic project goes back to the year 2002, whereas the Chorale workshops and Theater of the Scientific Center of Orsay wished to make a joint spectacle. Annick Guillemin, director, proposed the Night of the Kings of William Shakespeare. The public was so enthusiastic that the adventure was reiterated in 2003… It was the birth of a troop which was going to be called Cassiopée , symbol of stars and dream. It represents also the ancient theater when the dramaturgy was development by a Chorus. Since, each year is assembled a spectacle, gathering various artistic profiles: actors, costumiers, decorators, singers and musicians.
