History of the race

This pony was already domesticated by the Mésopotamien S, there is: 5000 years. He is probably an ancestor of the Arab Pur-sang. The scientists make the assumption according to which it would be the oldest race of horses. One could establish a close relationship with a prehistoric race of Eastern type, thanks to the conservation of a remarkable genetic purity.

It was thought that the race was extinct, when, in 1965, an American discovers some close to the mount Elbourz. It places them at the Haras of Teheran so that they reproduce and to save the race of the extinction. It is considered that these ponies are out of danger but they remain rare.

Characteristics

They measure of 1 m with 1,30 Mr. They are true Arab Pur-sang S miniatures. When the Caspian one is crossed with the Arab horse, it gives rise to the caspian arabian

bai, gray, chestnut horse, black, possible marks white but remaining rare.

Character

The Caspian ones are famous to be quiet, flexible and resistant ponies. It has the heart of a horse. Affectionate, intelligent, obeying and player, it is an excellent mounting. Far from being stupid, this animal is full with spirit.

Description

Head: small, fine, naseaux broad, large eyes.
Neck: gracious and powerful.
Shoulders: obliques.
Members: ends, but remain strong; no pennons.
Feet: shoes with the extremely hard horn what avoids the use of irons.
profile: right.
body: average and rather narrow stoutness.

Disciplines

Good jumper, it is able to ram the pawn with the largest horses, except with the gallop of races, because of its small size. It can appear very qualified in horse of spétacle, thanks to its flexibility it can carry out without great difficulties of the révérances, to put itself at knees…

Use

Mainly like Saddle horse, but also attachment.
