Casino of the Lake-Leamy

The complex of the Casino of the Lake-Leamy is a place of important entertainment located at Gatineau, in Canada. It one of the three casino S is managed by the Société of the casinos of Quebec, a subsidiary company of Lotto-Quebec.

History

Its inauguration took place on March 24th, 1996, under the name of Casino of Hull . In 2001, were added a hotel (Hilton Lake-Leamy), a theater as well as a center of congress.

Description

Impacts

Researchers of École of psychology of the Université Laval realized, five years after its establishment, a study on the impacts of the casino. Immediately after its establishment, the frequency of participation in gambling of the inhabitants of Gatineau, as well as the greatest sums lost with the play increased, for then decreasing three years and five years after the opening, resident however higher than the data before the opening. In addition, the percentage of pathological players among the inhabitants did not increase, that it is one year, three years or five years after the opening.
