Biography

Beginning in 2002 in the category of 250 cm ³, it joined the following year the category of 125 cm ³ on Aprilia and it gains its first victory. In 2004, always of category 125 cm ³, but with the official team KTM, it gains a second victory, finishes second twice and is classified 5th championship of the world.

It returns to the category 250 cm ³ in 2005, again with Aprilia. It will be there the main adversary of Daniel Pedrosa for the world title, gaining with the passage five victories.

In 2006, it reaches the category MotoGP. With the handlebar of a Honda, it carries out a first correct season and finishes 8th with general classification.

Noticed by Ducati, it is engaged by the Italian team at the sides of tried out Loris Capirossi for the season 2007. For the first Grand Prix of the season, it octroit the victory after a duel vis-a-vis Valentino Rossi, it is the beginning of an irresistible rise against which the septuple world champion will not be able anything. Casey again carries it in Turkey, in China, in Catalonia, in the United Kingdom, in the United States, as a Czech Republic and with Misano. Its worse place (6ère) at the time of the Grand Prix of Japan with Motegi, brings sufficient points to him to gain the title of World champion MotoGP 2007. On Sunday, October 14, 2007, it honors this title by a victory at the time of its national Grand Prix over the circuit with Phillip Island in Australia.
