Casco Viejo Bilbao
The Casco Viejo of Bilbao is an old club of Spanish Hockey . It will appear in the Superliga Española since 1975 and will quickly become one of the clubs headlights of the peninsula.
In 1978, it will be the first Spanish club to take share with the Coupe of Europe of the clubs champions of hockey during a confrontation with the club Dutch of Heerenven.
The team of Casco Viejo will change name into 1981 to moult itself in Vizcaya Bilbao, which will not prevent it from continuing with caracoler in top of the classifications of the Championnat of Spain of hockey.
It is in 1986 that the club will have to cease its activities. In spite of its many successes, the profitability of the skating rink of Bilbao was not ensured and the municipality will be cntrainte to suspend the activities of their club headlight. It is this same year that many clubs Spanish have similar problems, which will force the Spanish Fédération of hockey to suspend the championship during two years in order to set up a sporting and financial development program. This trève will not make it possible Casco Viejo (become Vizcaya) to remake surface and the club will disappear definitively.
The origin of the name of Casco Viejo ( Old Castilian Helmet in ) comes from the name of the district of Bilbao in which the skating rink was located.
