Cascades of Krimml

The cascades of Krimml ( Krimmler Wasserfälle ) are located in Austria in the Land of Salzburg, close to the village of Krimml, within the Hohe the Tauern.

  • the torrent, after having traversed a suspended small valley with 1  470 m of altitude, precipitate in three cascades of 140,100 and 140 Mr.
  • the flow in June and July is about 6 m ³ /sec, it goes down to less 200l/sec at the time from the strong frosts. The record measured the August 25th 1987 was of more than 800 m ³ /sec.
  • Regarded as highest of Europe (in any case by their flow), it is a very tourist site and arranged very well: a way makes it possible to approach the 3 falls with view-points brought closer in a little more than one hour outward journey.
