Casca

(sometimes spelled Caska ) is the principal female character of the Manga Berserk.

It belongs to the Band of the Falcons, carried out by Griffith, of which it is the second officer after him. It with the reputation to be best fighting troop after Griffith and Guts.

Casca is originating in a village of peasants of a border region of the Kingdom of Midland. His/her parents, overpowered by the taxes and the war, were constrained to sell it with noble passage whereas it was child. The noble one tried to violate it but Griffith helped by giving him a sword to be defended. It killed its attacker then joined the Band of the Falcons, then simple gathering of gangsters. It climbs the levels thanks to its control of the sword and with its will, for finally becoming the right-hand man of Griffith. It has for him feelings ambiguous oscillating between the almost mystical veneration and of the feelings in love. On the other hand, Griffith sees only in Casca a soldier devoted and talented and does not return its feelings to him. It places however in it an absolute confidence.

Later, it will meet Guts, with which it will reproach a long time for diverting Griffith of its goal. It and Guts will approach finally after having passed a good end of time between-to save itself. Casca was detached also gradually from Griffith, understanding that this one could never be that which she wanted to see, being a prisoner of its ambition.

After the capture of its chief, she assumed temporarily the role of chief of the Falcons, then joined by Guts, she will manage to save Griffith of the gœles of the King of Midland where he was imprisoned.

Following the eclipse Casca lost the head, it was made pose the mark of the sacrifice and was violated by Femto, God Hand formerly named Griffith. Guts and it are from now on never with the shelter of the Evil, carrying all two the symbol of God Hand which indicates them like condemned man. It was likely many times to die, but was protected by Griffith, Guts and their child. It from now on is often accompanied by Farnese Lady who plays a little the nannies for it.

Casca is the symbol of the strong woman in Berserk. Its will, allows him brilliant deeds, it is considered, intelligent and never lowers the arms. It is one fighting skilful, having carried out its life by the sword, it was freed from its bonds while killing and in this respect it is respected in all the band; only Guts and Griffith one more prestige than it. Nevertheless, Casca is not either a monster such Guts and Griffith and it remains weak fâce with the horror of the Apostles, although giving up anything to them. Thus, not having the hatred of Guts, it cannot support the Eclipse and dark in the madness. Finally, with characters like Judeau, Casca is posed like a really human character, in opposition with the demons which are Guts or Griffith.
