Carystos
Carystos or Karystos is a small fishing port of the South of the island of Eubée, larger island Greek after the Crete.
Karystos counts more than 5000 inhabitants and is easily accessible from the continent by ferries which regularly make the shuttle with Rafina which is itself very easy of access since Athens or the airport, thanks to a dense network of bus.
Its urban plan was imagined by a Bavarian engineer of reputation, Bierbach, in the middle of the 19th century. It is located close to the site of the ancient city to Carystos and account some tourist curiosities going back to this time.

Bourtzi, a Venetian tower built in the middle of XIIIe century, seat at the end of the port. It regularly accommodates exposures, tables, jewels…
- In Milli, small village on the heights of Carystos, are held the ruins of Castello Rosso, a Venetian castle builds in 1030. The visit of the castle is the occasion of a beautiful ballade in the paths wooded and the villages located on the heights of the city.
- the town hall, frame at the 19th century, is located meadows of the orthodoxe church Saint Nicolas's Day.
- a small museum, accommodated by the arts center of Yokaleion, comprises collections of sculptures and hellenistic potteries and Romans.
