Cartoon on stamps of Belgium
The Cartoon is a regular topic on the postage stamps of Belgium since 1979, mainly through the emissions Philatélie of youth . It appears in the Belgian philatelic program each year since 1987, with an increase in the number of emissions since 2001. The introduced series, draftsmen and authors are French-speaking than Dutch-speaking as much.
the Adventures of Tintin and Milou of Hergé had the greatest number of emissions and were the object of the first emission on the cartoon in 1979.
Philately of youth
The Philatélie of youth is an annual emission dedicated bound for the children collectors, who exists since 1960. It is recognizable with a small logo.In October 1979, it introduces the characters of Tintin, Milou and of the Capitaine Haddock: the first observing with the magnifying glass of the stamps representing the captain. Often, the characters of cartoon are used in situations in connection with the Philatélie and the transport of the mail. The stamp of 1984 represents thus a Schtroumpf factor.
Since 1987, without stopping, the stamp Philatélie of youth is illustrated by characters of cartoon:

In 1991, to point out the inauguration of the Belgian Center of the cartoon, a notebook of four stamps is emitted. The cover of François Schuiten watch characters of the stamps which enter the building of the Center. The four series used are:

- the obscure Cities of François Schuiten
- Cori the ship's boy of Bob De Moor
- Ball and Bill of Jean Wrapped.

Since 2001, there is an appearance of the emissions on the topic of the cartoon apart from the series Philatélie of youth , related to birthdays and joint emissions.
Birthdays and homages
December 30th, 2002, for the 80 years of the Flemish draftsman Marc Sleen, a stamp and a block is emitted taking again the characters of Néron , objects already of a stamp in 1989.They are especially the principal birthdays of the series of the Aventures of Tintin which are celebrated by a philatelic emission. In March 2004, an illustrated block of five stamps makes it possible to celebrate the 75 E birthday of the Aventures of Tintin and Milou , the 50e birthday of the album One went on the Moon and the 35e birthday of the first man on the the Moon. The stamps take again three scenes of the cartoon and two photographs of the project of lunar model of rocket of the Professor Tournesol.
The centenary of Hergé sees the setting on sale, in May 2007, of a sheet of twenty-five stamps of 0,46 €: for each of the twenty-four covers of albums of Tintin and a portrait of the draftsman.
Moreover, in 1999, for the series the Turn of the 20th century in 80 stamps , Tintin and Milou are selected to illustrate the emission “Sport and relaxation”.
Joint emissions
December 31st, 2001, takes place an emission common with the Democratic republic of Congo for the 70e birthday of the publication of Tintin to Congo . The stamp represents Tintin in colonial behavior such as it is reproduced on the cover of the album. A block takes again the scene of Tintin in the car in savanna.May 15th, 2004, the common emission with the France has as a subject Blake and Mortimer around a stamp introducing the two heroes. In Belgium, this stamp is taken again in block-layer with the character of Olrik and the Swordfish ; a second stamp pays homage to Edgar P. Jacobs. In France, a second stamp is emitted taking again the cover of the album the yellow Mark .
Others
In October 2001, a notebook of five self-adhesive stamps is emitted for the Journée of the stamp. It announces the first birthday of Stampilou, club for young collectors and whose mascots are Stamp and Pilou, two young characters of cartoon created by Studio max!. These characters appear again on a sheet of ten stamps of Christmas in 2002, in a snow-covered scene.In September 2005, a layer of six stamps is emitted on the topic of the album Astérix among Belgians - Asterix in Belgen . Five stamps in top of the sheet represent Astérix, Abraracourcix, Assurancetourix, Obélix and Panoramix. The low part is a resumption of the scene of the banquet in the Belgian village, inspired by the country Marriage of Pierre Brueghel Old the. A stamp comprises part of the scene with Astérix lorgnant on the food brought by two of its hosts.
In April 2007, to illustrate the emission Europa over the centenary of the Scouting, are used two images of Robert Baden-Powell extracted the biography drawn by Jijé.
Albums of cartoon
For a few years, during the emissions Philately of youth or of an emission concerning a famous series, Belgian La Poste and the Belgian Center of the cartoon has published an album containing the used stamp, a biography of the authors and draftsmen of the series, drawings original and an original history of the series.
