The cartoon is a technique of Cartoon film. It is especially known for its success near the children, even if a great part of the production is addressed to all kinds of public.

The most used traditional techniques are decorations painted on paper, of the characters and moving objects drawn and gouaches on celluloid (or Cellulo S , transparent sheet of Acetate).

In the Years 1990, the Informatique upset the traditional techniques, and today the majority of the cartoons are partially carried out by Ordinateur. In spite of the arrival of data processing in the field of the cartoon, the majority of the drawings are carried out with the hand. Certain programs make it possible to create intervals but the key images remain made by the organizer. The computer makes it possible to associate an infinity of layers in animation and to facilitate coloring. Data processing still makes it possible to avoid the development of a specific film to test animation.
