The station
History
The Porte station Lilacs has a relatively complex history. In 1921, the line 3 is prolonged since Gambetta. It is planned to exploit services connected between this line and the branch Pré St-Gervais of the line 7. Two stations are thus built: for the terminus of line 3, before a loop of terminus; the other on the crossovers.
Finally, the junction will never be exploited as such. Only until in 1939 will exist a shuttle Pré St-Gervais - Porte of the Lilacs on one of the two ways, the other will never be exploited. The shuttle will find then a small period of glory with the tests of the tyred subway and the prototype motor coach MP 51.
The corresponding station will find a new use later in the cinema (see below).
In 1971, the section Door of the Lilacs - Gambetta is separated from the remainder of the line 3 which has just been prolonged since Gambetta, until Galliéni, via Porte of Bagnolet. The new section takes then the name of line 3bis.
The song of Serge Gainsbourg the poinconnor of the Lilacs testifies that before this date one could travel without correspondence since the door of the Lilacs until Levallois-Perret.
