Carpiquet is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie.

Carpiquet is located at Juste beside Caen.
History
The Canadian troops launch an offensive on Carpiquet the July 4th 1944 in order to release the airport which was a top priority of the Débarquement of Normandy. The village is released in the course of the day but the airport remains with the hands of the German forces until the July 9th, defended by a company S.

The Airport of Caen - Carpiquet is located on the commune. It was created in 1931. Carpiquet also has of a small amusement park (Festyland) and a great industrial park. A swimming pool is open since July 2007.The Saint Martin's day church of the Trinity (12th-14th), classified historic building (ISMH, 1/24/1927)
