Carpet of Mashhad
The carpet of Mashhad is a type of Persian carpet.
The carpets of Mashhad are classified in two groups: Mashhad and Mashhad turkbâf . The turkbâf, as its name indicates it, is carried out with the Turkish node by emigrated craftsmen of Tabriz to Mashhad at the 19th century.
Description
The two groups of carpet carry the floral reason said islim , meaning “snake”. On all the field fine undulated volutes appear, from where the name of snake. The central medallion is generally round.The colors are sharp, with dominant of red. The edge is made of two or three edge, rather narrow lines, decorated with flowers and broad band central decorated with the reason islim or flowers locked up in rectangles and rhombuses.
