Carpelle
The carpelle is an element of the Pistil. It includes/understands three parts:
- a closed cavity, the ovary which shelters the ovules,
- the style in the shape of column which connects the ovary to the Stigmate S .
- the mark, located at the end of the style, it does not have skin and often viscous and is provided with Papille S in order to better collect the Pollen at the time of the Pollinisation.
The carpelle one is transformed into Fruit after the Fécondation.
The carpelles ones constitute the fourth verticil of the Fleur and their grouping constitutes the Gynécée or pistil.
Their number is in general related to that of the other floral parts, thus at the Monocotylédone S, which have Fleur S trimères, there are three carpelles. A plant with several carpelles is known as syncarpe.
" is called; false syncarpe " plants having gynécée one formed of carpelles independent but welded, in opposition to " apocarpe " who corresponds to several carpelles free.
At the least advanced Plant S (Nymphéacée S, Papavéracée S), the carpelles ones are of high and unspecified number. Conversely, at the most advanced Species S, their number is reduced to two (Ombellifère S) or one (Graminée S).
