Caroline Miolan-Carvalho
Caroline Miolan-Carvalho born the December 31st 1827 in Marseilles, and deceased in 1895 is a French singer of opera.
Girl of the Hautboïste Felix Miolan, it is the pupil of Gilbert Duprez in 1843, then committed with the Op3era Comique in 1850. In 1853, it Marie with Leon Carvalho which it follows to the Opera house of which he is the director. She makes an international career. In 1868, the Opera house must close its doors and she is engaged with the Opera.
She creates the role of Marguerite in the Faust of Charles Gounod. She will be also of the creation of Mireille , then of Romeo and Juliette of the same type-setter.
