Caroline Boussart
Caroline Popp , born Caroline Boussart with Binche the December 12th 1808 and died in 1891, founds in 1837 the liberal Journal of Bruges with her husband, the famous cartographer and editor Philippe Christian Popp. It is the Editor association during one half-century.
Impassioned by the history of Bruges, she endeavors to return her glare to her town of adoption, deprived of her brilliant port activity to the Moyen-âge by the stranding of the Zwin. Mother of eight children, it fights for tax reforms, the creation of railways, the generalization of the vapor in the factories, against the misery which strikes the Flanders and the Capital punishment.
Woman of letters, it maintains a correspondence with Victor Hugo,
