Carole King

Carole King , born the February 9th, 1942 with Brooklyn New York, is a singer, American compositrice and Musicien. It was known during the years 1970, but it was also active before and after this period.

Biography

Carole Klein (its true name) started to play of the Piano, then was put at the song and formed the vocal quartet " the Co-Sines". It counted Paul Frederic Simon, Neil Sedaka and Gerry Goffin among her student friends.

Goffin and King, which married, formed a duet considered for the composition of songs during the years 1960. Their first hit was " Will You Coils to Me Tomorrow" , interpreted by Shirelles in 1961.

Among their many compositions which had success one finds: " Take Good Care off My Baby" (by Bobby Vee), " The Loco-Motion" (by Little Eva, then by Large Funk Railroad and Kylie Minogue), " Fine One Day" (The Rags), " Pleasant Valley Sunday" (The Monkees), " Up one the Roof" (by The Drifters, then by James Taylor), " Chains" (by The Cookies then by the Beatles), " (You Make Me Like Feel) Natural Woman" has; (Aretha Franklin) and " He Hit Me (and It Felt Like has KIS) " (The Hooks).

King had a hit also by interpreting its own " composition; It Might Ace Well Rain Until September" (1962).

King formed the group “The City” with Danny Kortchmar and Charles Larkey whom she married after having divorced Goffin. Their album Now That Everything' S Been Said was a commercial failure, just as Writer (1970).

She was success with an excellent album Tapestry (1971) which was sold to 11 million specimens and made it very famous like compositrice and interprets.

Its following albums were as well received: Music (1971), Rhymes and Reasons (1972) and Wrap Around Joy (1974).

In 1973, Carole King made a free concert in the open air, with Central Park (New York), which attracted more 100  000 people.

Goffin and King took again their collaboration to compose his album Thoroughbred (1975) with David Crosby, Graham Nash and James Taylor. COPYRIGHTINFRINGEMENT

King married with another type-setter, Rick Evers, after having carried out Simple Things (1977). Her new husband died of one overdose to heroin one year later, in March 1978.

In 1978 it carried out the album Welcome Home , where it pays homage to Rick Evers (he plays on Venusian Diamond .

After having carried out Speeding Time in 1983, it left the music during six years to be a militant ecologist.

She made her return in 1989 off with the album City Streets , followed Color Your Dreams in 1993.

King is politically committed, it supported John Kerry during the countryside for the presidency of the the United States in 2003 - 2004.

King made a round, " Living room Room Tour" , with the Canada and the United States in 2005.
