Carnon
Carnon is a Seaside resort of the Herault built on the offshore bar isolating the pond from Gold of the sea the Mediterranean. It is located on the territory of the common of Mauguio.
Being the second agglomeration of this commune, from which it is separated by the pond from Gold, Mauguio took the practice to be named: common of Mauguio-Carnon .
The oldest dwellings of fishermen, the huts of Carnon, are close to Pérols, more inside the ponds.
Carnon is built on the model of a new city, with an orthogonal plan of the streets. The basin of the marina constitutes the principal center of the tourist activities. In the west, the road access of part of the station is common to that of the balneal commune close to Palavas-the-Floods.
The oriental party, wider, is prolonged according to the road which connects Carnon to the Large-Mound this city particularly famous for its beaches like its " Barrieres" (district of the Villas) and access to the beaches known as gives of the Petit and Grand through . One finds there activities of beach and some discotheques. This zone is the subject of a project of installation which causes polemics. Installation aims at preserving the dune cord by prohibiting the parking and the automobile access. Public transport and a cycle track would be set up.
The station benefits from the road infrastructures with separate roadways which connect the stations of the Gulf of Lions to Montpellier and the highway A9.
