Carnedd Dafydd
Carnedd Dafydd is a mountain of the Carneddau in the north of Eryri (Snowdonia), Wales. To 1.044 m the mountain is 20 meters less high than the top dominating of Carneddau, Carnedd Llywelyn, related to Carnedd Dafydd by an edge, and the third in row of Wales after Yr Wyddfa and Carnedd Llywelyn. It was located on the major edge of Carneddau, with Carnedd Llywelyn with the North-East and PEN yr Ole Wen in the south. In the north of the edge between Carnedd Dafydd and Carnedd Llywelyn is Ysgolion Duon, cliff rock which attracts the climbing ones.
It is not known if the mountain were named in honor of the prince Dafydd ap Llywelyn, wire of Llywelyn Large the or for Dafydd ap Gruffudd, brother of Llywelyn the Last.
One can make ascent it of Carnedd Dafydd de Tal-y-llyn Ogwen, at the edges of Llyn Ogwen, and follow Afon Lloer to the Lake Ffynnon Lloer and to the top. Ascent normal is by PEN yr Ole Wen, but it is more tiring.
