Carmen Cerdeira

Carmen Cerdeira Morterero or María del Carmen Cerdeira (born the September 27th 1958 with Ceuta - died the August 2nd 2007 in the same city) was a lawyer and a political woman Spanish.

Biographíe

After a license in right obtained to the University of Seville, Carmen Cerdeira becomes lawyer. But, it quickly leaves this profession to be devoted fully to the policy.

In 1983, it is elected adviser of the autonomous city of Ceuta, its birthplace, with the nomination of PSOE, then, in 1986, it conquers a seat of sénatrice.

In 1989, it presented in front of the plenary session of the Sénat of Spain a private bill proposing a reform of the Civil code to apply the principle of nondiscrimination for reason of sex.

Maria del Carmen Cerdeira was confronted, like deputy government, with the events of the revolt of the immigrant in October 1995, with Ceuta, close to the Murallas Reales del Ángulo , one of the monuments symbolic systems of the city, which showed tens of wounded and the death of a national policeman, killed by ball.

In June 1997, it was elected secretary of the Movimientos Sociales of the federal Executive commission and in 1999, appointed with the the European Parliament, where it sat within the Commission of freedoms, justice and the interior questions .

In addition, these last years, it was the president of the Société of State for the external cultural activity (SEACEX).

In 2003, it was seen decreeing the Price María de Eza.

Carmen Cerdeira died the August 2nd 2007, at the 48 years age, in her birthplace of Ceuta, of a Cancer, against which she vainly fought during several years
