Carmelo Pérez
Armando Pedro Antonio Procopio Pérez Gutiérrez known as “Carmelo Pérez” , born with Texcoco (Mexico, state of Mexico City) the December 23rd 1908, died with Madrid (Spain) the October 28th 1931, was a Mexican Matador.
Presentation
At fourteen years, following the accidental death of his/her father, Carmelo becomes household head many: nine brothers and sisters. Carmelo wants to become bullfighter. As of its beginnings, its incredible and intuitive bullfighting seizes Mexico from which it fills the Arènes.“Cagancho” gives him an alternative first with Puebla (Mexico, state of Puebla), but it cancels this alternative because it wants to make its presentation like novillero with Mexico City. After four novilladas of sharp which fills the arenas, Carmelo takes its second alternative the November 3rd 1929, again of the hands of “Cagancho”.
The November 17th 1929, Carmelo torée again in Mexico City and faces bulls of the Ganadería of San Diego de Los Padres. The sixth bull, “Michin”, inflict five blows of horn to him destroying half of the thorax to him and injuring the right lung to him. The doctors operate it, giving him only a few hours to living. Carmelo Pérez does not die but remains one year without toréer. With an injured lung and a scar which suppure, it reappears in 1931 in Mexico City then with Guadalajara (Mexico, state of Jalisco).
A few weeks later, it leaves toréer to Spain. On the ship which, with other Mexican bullfighters, carries out to it, it realizes one day during a meal which they are thirteen with table. It rises and from goes away while saying: “One of us will not return alive to Mexico City. ”
