Carlos Santana

Carlos Santana (born the July 20th 1947 with Autlán de Navarro in the state of Jalisco, Mexico) is a Guitariste virtuoso mexicano - American, pivot of the groups Santana Blues Band, Santana Musicians and Santana Brothers. It is one of the contemporary guitarists most known in the world.

Biography

At 17 years, perfect Carlos his training of autodidact while occurring in the clubs of Tijuana, whereas his/her parents emigrated with San Francisco.

In 1966, Santana Blues Band explodes the streets of San Francisco as of its first services. It rocked and makes dance the world with many titles, such Samba Pa Ti , Black Magic Woman , Oye como goes , Europa and Evil Ways , or more recently with Smooth , Maria Maria , Illegal and Into The Night .

In 1969, Santana takes part in the Festival of Woodstock with its tinted rock'n'roll of rates/rhythms latino. The thirty years which follow are only recognition and success for this international artist.

Noticed little before the Festival of Woodstock, the group was invited there by the organizers. Its service, of which that of the mythical piece Soul Sacrifice (with a young beater Michael Shrieve), immortalized in the film Woodstock , which remained legendary, ensured a great success its first album, mixing Salsa and Rock. The style of the group evolved in the Années 1970 to a music more “  psychédélique  ” and jazzy, while keeping a strong Latin influence or gypsy. Disciple of Sri Chinmoy of 1972 to 1981, Santana will adopt the name of " Devadip" which means " the light of the lamp of Dieu" .

Santana was always surrounded by large artists like Aerosmith for Just Feel Better or Rob Thomas for Smooth or Chad Kroeger for Into The Night . It cotoyé musicians like John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter with which it made a round, Stanley Clarke and goods of others. It belongs to the musicians who knew with the passing of years to make evolve/move their music according to their various influences and experiments. He from his career almost 40 years and his work is regarded for some as one of the largest guitarists of the 20th century.

In the middle of the Seventies, he plays on of Gibson' S but also on Yamaha SG 2000. (Europa)

It has two models Signatures mark PRS (Paul Reed Smith). The PRS Santana SE and also the PRS Santana III which it has almost always used for a few years.
