Carlos Berg

Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Berg or Frederico Guillermo Carlos Berg is a Naturaliste and Argentinian Entomologiste of German origin , born the March 21st 1843 in Tuckum in Kurland (today Tukums in Latvia) and dead the January 19th 1902 with Buenos Aires.
After having worked a few years in the trade, it settles with Rīga in 1865 and becomes preserving entomological department of the Natural history museum, then of the university.
In 1873, it is called by Hermann Burmeister (1807-1892), director of the Natural history museum of Buenos Aires, to come to join it. Since 1874, Berg undertakes a forwarding in Patagonie to collect specimens for the Natural history museum there. This first mission will be followed the different one through Argentina, but also in Chile and to Uruguay.
Separately one period two years, from 1890 with 1892, qu' it passes to Museo Nacional of Montevideo, all its career is held in Buenos Aires. It replaces Burmeister with the head of the Natural history museum in 1892.
If its first specialization is the Entomologie, it is also devoted to the Paléontologie and the study of the Vertébré S.
