Carlo Giuseppe Guglielmo Botta (1766, San Giorgio Canavese in Piedmont - August 1837, Paris), Italian historian

He was initially doctor; under the Empire member of the legislative body was; and vice-chancellor under the Restoration. As historian, Botta is the follower of Francesco Guichardin, of which it supplemented work.

His/her son is the archeologist Paul-Emile Botta (1802 - 1870).
