Geography
History
Carling is founded in 1714 by the Count of Saarbrucken Charles-Louis de Nassau, of which it bears the name: Karlingen . Carling counts twelve houses in 1728 and twenty-two in 1756.The king de France Louis XV joins together Carling with the baronnie Überherrn, which it created in 1767. The baronnie includes/understands also the villages yielded by Saarbrucken in 1766, namely Wilhelmsbronn, Diesen and part of the Hospital.
Alliance free - Austrian, sealed during the War Seven Year old (1756 - 1763), can finally bear its fruits. It purged Lorraine space of its leavens of war and makes it possible to outline a “border of peace” , based on the liquidation of the dispute free - Luxembourg eois, concerning the areas of Rodemack and Raville) and of the compensated exchanges, laboriously negotiated 1769 with 1786 with Germanic princes, around the Warndt (acquisition of Creutzwald, Carling and the Hospital).
In 1770, by the treated of the November 26th, Louis, prince of Saarbrucken, yields to the France the village of Carling, while receiving in exchange Emmersweiler, in the east of Forbach and Baerendorf, in the east of Fénétrange. The imperial decree of Napoleon i, of the January 24th 1812, joins together the young commune of Carling to that of the Hospital. Twenty-five years later, the city council men ask for the separation which will lead only in 1894.
